IMMEDIATE opening for a full-time Front Desk Receptionist to support the U.S. Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Research Station located in Placerville, CA
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will provide administrative support to leadership and their offices within the Placerville Forest Service Office. The Front Desk Receptionist shall perform varied clerical and support tasks necessary to facilitate the goals, objectives, and priorities of senior leadership.
DUTIES: Provides general purpose administrative and clerical support including:
- Executes work utilizing Outlook(Word, Excel, Calendars, etc.). Develop documents, edit spreadsheets, etc.
- Assists with office correspondence and filing.
- Becomes familiar with activities and events on the Forest Service website to adequately answer questions and assist with projects.
- Tracks general office supplies and vendor requests for facility manager and makes procurement requests when requested.
- Responsible for mail and UPS: both incoming and outgoing.
- Responsible for Conference Room Management which includes scheduling, maintaining supplies, and assisting with Video-Teleconferencing set-up.
- Organizes site meetings as needed
- May be asked to do other clerical activities as requested.
REQUIRED SKILL SETS:
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite Programs, with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, excel and Outlook
- Employ sufficient vocabulary knowledge to ensure accuracy of punctuation, grammar, spelling and required formats
- Must be able to operate related office equipment such as printers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
- Must be familiar with entering data in EXCEL spreadsheets.
- Must be familiar with entering data into Share point via Explorer
- Experienced and knowledgeable with MS Outlook
- Knowledgeable regarding access control for authorized personnel and visitors.
- Knowledge of Forest Service terminology
- Must be able to pass a background investigation
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have 3 Years verifiable office experience
- Must have 3 years Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Must be able to pass a background investigation including credit check
- Excellent customer service skills and attendance record is a must!
