Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur client is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our Vaughan based team as a Project Estimator. This is an opportunity to join a company with over 25 years of construction experience. Reporting to the Chief Estimator you will be responsible for all aspects of tendering a project. Travel throughout the GTA area may be required.About the Role
- Visit pretender site meetings and site investigations
- Perform quantity / material take-offs
- Checking estimates for accuracy and errors
- Solicit subtrade pricing
- Budgeting and cost control
- Evaluating subtrade quotations during tendering
- Finalization of tender forms for submittal
- Analysis and summarizing successful and unsuccessful tenders
- Submittal of bonding and insurance requirements
- Communicate with Owners and Consultants
- Assess and evaluate risks of each tendered project
- Update and Coordinate Request for Tender and Quotation documents with subtrades
- Ability to develop preliminary construction scheduled using MS ProjectSkills and Experience
- 8 to 10 years experience working as a Project Estimator
- Post-secondary education in a construction related program
- Professional attitude
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Highly organized
- Great attention to detail
- Solid computer skills in particular MS Excel
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
