ABOUT THE ROLE:

Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Regional Manager leads a network of branches in delivering exceptional member experiences and growing market share. The regional manager develops and coaches their managers and teams to optimize both member satisfaction and product and service adoption with every interaction while upholding the Credit Union's core values and mission statement. They engage their managers and provide leadership development, while supporting the development and growth of other employees throughout the region. A regional manager also ensures that branches within their market achieve performance goals and grows market share while maintaining operational efficiency and excellence through quality assurance and best practice standardization. Most importantly, the regional manager is the primary retail banking conduit between the organization and the communities within their market oversight, representing Navigant to the highest levels of professionalism.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead a team to optimize productivity and efficiency. Continuously evaluate talent and plan for succession. Set clear development goals, provide coaching, identify future roles, and delegate suitable development projects and assignments.
  • Dedicated to ongoing learning and professional development. Collaborate with team members to ensure team engagement levels and actively promote a positive a work culture in alignment with Navigant's core values.
  • Evaluate performance and make recommendations for promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee and maintain sound operations throughout the region via formal and informal assessments, including branch visits, corporate audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Review the operational practices of branches in the region, continuously looking for ways to maintain high service levels for our members.
  • Partner with Retail Operations, Project Managers, and other departmental managers to improve efficiencies and processes as needed.
  • Standardize best practices across all branches to enhance operational efficiencies.

Strategic Planning and Market Growth:

  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop strategies for market growth, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Implement retail strategies focused on member growth and retention, deposit and loan growth, fee income, and market penetration within markets of oversight.
  • Collaborate with teams to enhance profitability, product offerings, and service quality.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to staff, particularly in sales techniques.
  • Overseeing and executing local market strategies to attract new members and promote within the community.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to optimize team performance and effectiveness.

Financial Management:

  • Effectively manage expenses within the allocated budget while maintaining service level standards. Prioritize cost reduction without comprising quality.
  • Analyze available data to assess regional performance and make informed decisions.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with outside vendors to resolve problems and remain current on new product development.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines.
  • Oversee branch internal controls to achieve satisfactory internal and external audits.
  • Work with other department managers to resolve any related compliance, legal, or member issues.

Community Engagement:

  • Represent Navigant Credit Union by actively participating in local business events, volunteering within the community, and serving on relevant boards of directors.
  • Attend community events to establish a robust presence in the local community.
  • Encourage and facilitate branch team involvement in community initiatives and events.
  • Foster partnerships with local organizations to enhance the credit union's reputation and community outreach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) education required. BA/BS in Business, Finance, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for a degree.


Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in banking leadership and branch operations. Thorough understanding of loan products and deposit growth.
  2. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate teams to meet service and sales goals. Must maintain a positive work environment.
  3. Excellent verbal, written, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Proficient in a variety of PC applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, core banking and other operational banking systems, and data analysis programs.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously.
  6. National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Travel: This role requires regular travel to branches within your markets of oversight/coverage, and regular travel is expected. Approved work-related travel will be reimbursed in accordance with corporate policies.
