Job Title: Part-Time Development Coordinator
Job Summary: The part-time Development Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the fundraising and development efforts of an emergency services organization. The primary focus of this position is to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation, and community outreach activities. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the development team to ensure the organization's financial sustainability and growth, enabling it to continue providing vital emergency services to the community.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising Campaigns: Collaborate with the development team to plan and implement fundraising campaigns, including direct mail appeals, online crowdfunding, and special events. Assist in developing campaign strategies, setting fundraising goals, and tracking progress.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Support donor cultivation efforts by maintaining accurate donor records, preparing donor communication materials, and assisting with donor acknowledgment and recognition processes. Help build and maintain positive relationships with individual and corporate donors.
Grant Writing and Reporting: Assist in identifying grant opportunities and preparing grant applications and proposals. Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary data and information for grant reporting. Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and deadlines.
Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about the organization's mission and services. Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences. Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to expand the organization's network and support base.
Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor database records. Ensure data integrity and manage gift processing, including donation tracking, gift acknowledgment, and receipts. Generate reports and analyze donor data to inform fundraising strategies.
Communication and Marketing: Assist in creating compelling communication materials, such as newsletters, brochures, and social media content, to engage donors and promote fundraising initiatives. Contribute to the organization's online presence by updating the website and social media platforms.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and maintaining documentation related to fundraising activities. Assist with budget tracking and expense reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, marketing) or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in fundraising, development, or related roles in the nonprofit sector is desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage donors and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using donor management databases and software.
- Familiarity with grant writing and reporting processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
Some of our projects are: assembly of a emergency and disaster response team with drone pilots and medical staff. Second, our goal is to create a program where we adopt dogs from shelters, train them to be search and rescue dogs, and then donate them to SAR teams.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
