Shift: 3x 12-hour shifts
Job Summary:
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional registered nurse who serves as a skilled communicator, collaborator, and leader. This position supports nursing leadership in executing strategic priorities and ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ANM provides operational and administrative support, coordinates staffing, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and assists in staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports and communicates organizational policies, standards, and procedures.
- Serves as a role model in professionalism and quality patient care.
- Assists in cost containment efforts and resource utilization.
- Participates in recruitment and retention strategies.
- Conducts leader rounding, unit huddles, and goal-setting initiatives.
- Leads or participates in evidence-based practice projects and shared governance committees.
- Manages employee performance, corrective action plans, and evaluations.
- Assists in staff education, competency assessments, and onboarding processes.
- Monitors unit staffing productivity and adjusts staffing accordingly.
- Ensures regulatory compliance and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Leads multidisciplinary rounds and enhances patient and family experience.
- Oversees budget management, business intelligence, and care efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of recent nursing experience in a relevant specialty.
- Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and work effectively in a team.
- Strong commitment to patient care, quality improvement, and ongoing education.
Preferred:
- Prior experience as a Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
Education:
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Preferred:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
Certifications & Licensure:
Required:
- Current and valid New Jersey or Compact Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS - AHA).
- National certification aligned with the Magnet Recognition Program (within two years of hire).
