GI Endoscopy Support Specialist
Duties:
- Assist GI physicians during endoscopy procedures by preparing necessary equipment.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and perform pulse oximetry and EKGs as needed.
- Clean and sterilize endoscopy instruments and maintain inventory levels.
- Transport patients and ensure their comfort during the procedure.
- Provide patient instructions and manage emergency situations calmly.
- Handle specimen collection and documentation, ensuring proper labeling and submission.
- Support the RN in delivering high-quality patient care in compliance with policies and procedures.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of endoscopy procedures and patient care practices.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, or PALS preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; additional training as an NA/PCA is preferred.
Stipend Range: $87,000 - $102,000 annually.
