Position Overview
We are seeking a Patient Business Services Coordinator to join a dynamic and compassionate healthcare team. This role is responsible for managing billing, collections, and accounts receivable functions, ensuring financial compliance, and achieving cash collection goals. The ideal candidate will bring experience in third-party billing within long-term care or skilled nursing settings and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all billing, collections, and accounts receivable operations for the facility.
Supervise billing and collections personnel as applicable.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of claims and payments from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers.
Support facility compliance with financial regulatory standards and internal policies.
Collaborate with department heads to align financial processes with operational goals.
May also manage accounts payable and payroll processes.
Promote clear communication among staff and foster teamwork and professional development.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in third-party billing and reimbursement, specifically in skilled rehab, skilled nursing, or long-term care settings.
Proficiency in Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, and hospice collections.
Knowledge of month-end closing procedures.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Skills and Competencies
Ability to operate computer systems and enter resident data per regulations and policies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, patients, families, and vendors.
Knowledge of medical and pharmacological terminology.
Familiarity with nursing practices and healthcare regulations in long-term care.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Leadership and supervisory ability with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Ability to maintain professional relationships with various stakeholders, including facility staff, vendors, and the general public.
