Position: Patient Registrar
Location: New York, NY 10065
Duration: 3 Months
Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Includes a 60-minute break)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Patient Registrar to join our team for a contract position. The ideal candidate will have strong clerical, communication, and data entry skills and be comfortable working in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient registration, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and scheduling.
- Manage referral queue and ensure accurate data entry (minimum 4,500 keystrokes per hour).
- Assist patients with understanding health insurance benefits and requirements.
- Utilize EPIC for scheduling and record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively via phone and in person to provide excellent customer service.
- Work with medical coding systems (ICD-9, CPT-4) as needed.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED (Required); Some college coursework (Preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clerical experience (Required).
- Skills:
- Effective communication and telephone etiquette.
- Proficiency in computer and keyboarding tasks.
- Experience with EPIC (Preferred).
- Knowledge of health insurance processes, coding (ICD-9, CPT-4), and customer service (Preferred).
- Spanish-speaking skills (Preferred).
