Duties

  • You will oversee contractor and government repair and testing of C4ISR shipboard systems for compliance of multi-year contractual requirements.
  • You will ensure products or services meet specific requirements called out in the contractual documents and drawings, are installed in accordance with current DoD and NAVSEA specifications or guidance.
  • You will develop and provide direct technical input to document solutions and reports on shore equipment installation, integration, and interoperability.
  • You will Develop reports, tracks issues, and provide input to technical documents.
  • You will perform regular ship/sub/shore visits, maintain dialog with sites during deployments and periods of inactivity, and keep ship/sub/shore sites informed of current and upcoming work plans.
  • You will ensure products or services meet specific requirements called out in the contractual documents and drawings, and are installed in accordance with current DoD and NAVSEA specifications or guidance.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (411), proficiency level (Basic) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or NO-3 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing AND/OR providing direct technical input to documents, solutions and reports on shore equipment installation, integration, and interoperability; performing inspections, audits, and maintenance of systems.

Your Resume Must Demonstrate One Year Of Information Technology Related Experience In The Federal Service Or Private Or Public Sector Demonstrating The Following Four Competencies, As Defined

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Education

In leui of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
