Job Summary:
Plans and manages administrative, financial and operational activities for Code M / Merchandising and Marketing, reporting to the EVP Global Chief Merchandising & Marketing Officer (EVP, CMMO). Develops strategic plans to ensure business functions are efficient and are at their most productive. Is responsible for the day to day operations of Merchandising divisions and acts as key liaison between top management, both internal and external, to the division. Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and required information for the EVP, CMMO to facilitate effective decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with the EVP, CMMO in developing, administering plans, policies, and procedures concerning operations of Merchandising, Marketing and Web Store, assessing issues that serve as barriers to team or Merchandising divisions operating at maximum effectiveness. Assists with interpreting and implementing directives and regulations affecting buying and marketing. Determines administrative procedures to be followed and assist with establishing priorities in order to meet goals and objectives of each Merchandising divisions mission.
- Assists EVP, CMMO with internal communication, meetings with senior management and staff needs, ensuring associates concerns and issues are resolved. Attends management and executive meetings with, or as a proxy for EVP, CMMO. Assists in conducting meetings and similar events. Participates as a member or leader of special division committees.
- Develops, implements, and performs analysis of special projects; monitors progress and where applicable directs staff efforts to ensure objectives align with Commands strategic goals are accomplished within designated timeline.
- Manages and leads the administrative support staff within Merchandising, Marketing and Web Store areas. Ensures the team performs at an efficient level while providing premier customer service. Plans, executes and oversees the Code M operational budget to include all aspects of the day to day business expenses, including but not limited to: Payroll, travel, professional services, IT equipment, supplies, ensures to account for reimbursement(s) attributed to vendor compliance review, etc. Approves expenditures related to all travel, government purchase card charges, purchase requisitions and expenses relative to the operational budget.
- Provides direction, guidance and feedback to Merchandising, Marketing and Web Store Vice Presidents and Directors as it relates to personnel, policies, procedures, and operational aspects of the business. Responsible for ensuring information is clearly communicated and available. Ensures adequate office equipment and supplies are available and all associates have appropriate work stations. Manages authorized budget in accordance with established limitations; and keeps EVP, CMMO abreast of major budget expenses and current work climate.
- Conducts and/or assist with conducting market research to validate competitive product prices against NEXCOM/NEX prices to ensure market basket thresholds are maintained in accordance with defined targets.
- Works with the Office of Counsel to ensure associates subjected to Financial Disclosure requirement comply with the requirement, and information is accurately inputted to the Financial Disclosure Management System.
- Collaborates closely with Human Resources on staffing positions, developing and updating position descriptions, participating in interview process, developing interview questions, and may actively assist with recruitment efforts/initiatives. Reviews and provides salary recommendations on position selections. Provides guidance on performance appraisals, and other necessary aspects relating to personnel administration. In the absence of the EVP, CMMO approves leave requests for Vice President direct reports.

Required to complete Financial Disclosure Form OGE450.
Requires a total of 7 years of experience, consisting of the following:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in administrative professional, technical, investigative or other responsible work which demonstrates possession of abilities and aptitudes required to perform analysis, research and writing of regulatory material.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
1 year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.
AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 4 years of progressively responsible experience which provided the opportunity to acquire and the need to apply an extensive body of practical and theoretical knowledge of the principles, functions and processes of management; such experience can be gained in the analysis and application of regulatory material; analyzing and evaluating management controls, communication, procedures or workflow; planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, reporting and budgeting for an organizational segment; or performing work to improve management effectiveness rather than to resolve only technical problems in the field.
