What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at Nayar Health Care?
Nayar Health Care Melbourne is hiring for a Director of Nursing to assist with the planning, coordination, leading, controlling and evaluation of home health services.
Responsibilities:
- As a direct employee of the agency, the DON supervises or manages, directly or through qualified subordinates, all personnel who provide direct patient care
- Ensures that the professional standards of community nursing and home health care practice are maintained by all direct care staff providing care to agency patients.
- Coordinates the safe delivery of home health services and ensures that home health care services provided reflect upon and support the agency's mission, vision, and values
- Maintains and adheres to agency procedure and patient care policy
- Establishes service policies and procedures and administrative rules that generally conform to recommended CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety, universal precautions, and infection control procedures.
- Assists with HR management and ensuring that a qualified, competent staff is retained by the agency at all times
- Involved in the orientation of new agency staff, as indicated
- Evaluates nursing personnel on their job performance of job specific responsibilities
- Oversees and implements the agency's Performance Improvement Program and quality assurance initiatives
- Performs competency assessments for direct care staff, as indicated.
- Keeps agency personnel up to date on current health care practices
- Ensures that agency adopts policies for and keeps records of criteria for admissions to service, case assignments and case management.
- Conducts case management and assignment, as indicated
- Assures that the confidentiality of patient health information is maintained at all times
- Ensures that case assignment, case management, and services provided are appropriate, adequate, and consistent with a patient's plan of care, medical requirement, and assessed needs
- Assures that nursing and other services provided to patients are adequately coordinated and controlled by the agency
- Oversight of patient and personnel assignments

Assuring that patient needs are continually assessed
-Assuring the development, implementation, and updates to the individualized plan of care
- Abides by the agency's Code of Conduct
Qualifications:
A licensed Physician or Registered Nurse licensed in Florida.
Must have a minimum 1 year of supervisory experience, of which has been preferably community/home health experience.
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Must have a criminal history background check.
Must have current CPR certification.
