Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing facility. The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost accounting, and compliance. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the financial health of the facility and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Oversee payroll reporting and wage liability reporting.
- Manage financial operations with a focus on cash flow forecasting.
- Supervise all financial functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls and processes.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department managers.
- Prepare financial forecasts and variance analyses.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Cost Accounting and Analysis:
- Depreciate machinery and other fixed assets in compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage cost accounting processes, including product costing, inventory valuation, and standard cost updates.
- Analyze production costs and profitability metrics.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and operational improvements.
Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
- Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits.
- Maintain tax compliance and work with tax advisors as needed.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and sales.
- Present financial results and insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
