This Correctional Programs Supervisor position reports to the Associate Warden for Programs at a medium custody male correctional facility and has a working title of Recreation Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to ensure that performance-based standards and expected practices are established and met. In addition, this position will not be responsible for an offender caseload. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state pay plan which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range will be $37,782 - $66,120. Prior applicants will remain under consideration and do no need to reapply.

The salary grade for this position is NC08(Salary Range: $37,782 - $66,120). State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
About Warren Correctional Institution
Warren Correctional Institution is a medium custody facility located in Manson, NC which houses approximately 725 male offenders. The facility provides offender labor to one Correction Enterprises operation located off site: The Janitorial Product Plant manufactures a variety of cleaning products, soap, and plastic bags that are sold to various agencies/companies.

This Correctional Programs Supervisor position reports to the Associate Warden for Programs at a medium custody male correctional facility and has a working title of Recreation Coordinator. - Maintaining responsibility for the overall recreational programming for female offenders in a state correctional facility and supervising staff and offenders who work with the recreation program.
- Being accountable for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the recreational program to include accountability of compliance for accreditation.
- Developing a comprehensive annual recreation plan to promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of the offender population. The recreation plan will include leisure time activities, structured activities, special activities, and recognition activities that involve both the facility and the community.
- Coordinating and providing oversight for recreational activity planning, seasonal and holiday events, library access for all offenders (books, movies, etc.), and coordinating plans with staff and management.
- Coordinating and providing oversight for equipment and supply purchasing, inventory and distribution, evaluation of recreational areas, and proper maintenance of equipment and areas.
- Ensuring offenders with disabilities, offenders in close custody, and offenders in restrictive housing have access to all recreational programs within their assigned restrictions.
- Coordinating with community agencies to enrich programs, establish new programs, and work with community volunteers.
