What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Planner position at NC Dept. of Public Safety?
The Logistics Planner is responsible for assisting the Logistics Contracts and Purchasing Manager with planning, project development, and conducting resource gap analysis as it relates to state logistics disaster operations.
Job duties include:
- Participating on the State Emergency Response Team in the Logistics Section as tasked during emergencies and disasters
- Managing and developing disaster contracts and purchasing tools for the purpose of emergency acquisitions to support disaster operations
- Assisting with evaluation, coordination, and implementation of field level logistics disaster distribution projects
- Updating state-level planning documents
- Performing analysis of logistics data
- Producing situational awareness documents for leadership
- Assisting the Division with daily, routine, out of the ordinary, and disaster purchasing
This position qualifies for teleworking on a part-time basis as part of a State Telework Pilot Program. More information on this arrangement may be obtained at the time of interview. Any telework will be under the conditions of the State Teleworking Program Policy and the employer may end any teleworking arrangement at any time at the employer’s sole discretion.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. This position's typical work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

The salary grade for this position is NC16. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of progressively responsible emergency management, emergency services, or other professional experience directly related to the area of assignment;
or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
