Landscaping Installer Team Lead
JOB OVERVIEW:
This position entails being a hands-on crew leader for one of our install crews. This role requires regular communication with Management to ensure all responsibilities and work performed is done to company and industry standards. The right candidate will be detailed oriented and have a passion for building and installing beautiful, ecological landscapes within a growing company.
JOB DUTIES AND ABILITIES:
Meet with Management to discuss jobs and tasks for the day.
Ensure all landscape installation is performed in accordance with both industry and Noffke Home’s standards.
Installation of hardscapes to include, but not limited to patios, retaining walls, water features, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, drainage systems, etc.
Utilize equipment, power tools, small machinery, and hand tools to carry out full-service installations and proper handling of all materials.
Install softscapes to include, but not limited to grading, bed preparation, sod, shrubs, trees, perennials, mulch, topsoil, fertilizing, and pruning.
Ensure proper tools and materials are available and onsite for each job and that they are maintained and cared for.
Maintain a clean and orderly job site, vehicle, and shop.
Must be able to manage and instruct team to produce an excellent and profitable product in the absence of Management.
Assist with training team members to ensure proper procedures and processes are followed and ensure quality of work is achieved.
Direct, oversee, and participate in work performed by the team.
Understand and meet production and project schedule deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality.
Complete project documentation in an organized and timely manner when requested.
Ability to put the client at ease by answering questions and concerns and/or escalating to Management when necessary.
Drive team members to and from the job site.
Support Management with personnel documentation to include, but not limited to investigations, disciplinary actions, performance reviews, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable residential landscape construction experience with strong knowledge of both softscape and hardscape materials.
Candidate must be able to make day to day decisions to build/install quality landscapes.
Shrub and small tree pruning knowledge and experience.
General plant identification knowledge.
Must be well organized with strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.
Must be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills.
Must possess a strong attention to detail (has an eye for quality).
Depending on project location, must have the ability to be at work by 6:30 am.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean MVR and ability to be added to the company’s insurance policy.
Willingness to work occasional (paid) overtime.
PREFERRED:
An industry certification relevant to landscape construction would be a strong plus, but not required.
Working knowledge of irrigation and landscape lighting systems.
Exposure to Project Management methodology would be useful.

SAFETY ORIENTED:
Operates all vehicles, hand tools, power tools, and machinery in a safely manner.
Keeps crew safe through zero jobsite accidents and always enforces use of personal protective equipment and/or safety gear.
Will routinely load/unload vehicles and safely transport equipment and materials to job site.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Manual dexterity to perform all required functions of this position.
While performing the duties of this job, the Landscape Installation Crew Leader is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, crouch, reach, stoop, crawl, or kneel.
The position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions.
Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, and dirty/wet worksites.
Must be able to properly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be able to climb ladders up to 12 ft.
