Position Description - Restocking Associate

NC MedAssist is North Carolina’s only nonprofit, statewide free pharmacy. Our programs assist our neighbors with medication access needs by providing prescription and over-the-counter medication at no cost. Our mission is to dispense opportunities through improved health.

JOB SUMMARY:

The OTC Store Restocking Associate is part of a dynamic, multifaceted Free OTC Store Team.  This is a temporary (120-day) position that is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurate data entry and efficient management of OTC inventory. The position will report to the Transitional Jobs Program Director and will work closely with the OTC Program Manager.  Some weekend and night work may be required. Normal operating hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunch.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

1.     Maintain motivation to assist customers, volunteers, teammates, or visitors

2.     Assist with the ongoing restocking of store shelves and store recovery

3.     Provide explanation of store guidelines

4.     Sort, organize, store and retrieve inventory for distribution

5.     Keep floors and shelves clean and free of debris

6.     Act as back up to the Customer Service Associate – if necessary, open store and respectfully greet and assist customers

7.     Check out customers by entering information in computer accurately

8.     Select, pack and ship OTC medicine to participating clinic partners

9.     Ask for assistance from the manager with clients who need further explanation

10.  Work with event manager and others to prepare for a mobile free pharmacy event

11.  Lift, transfer, stack and load boxes weighing at least 40 pounds

12.  Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        High School Diploma or GED equivalent

·        Experience with data entry in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)

·        Demonstrate friendly and outgoing personality even under fast paced conditions

·        Must pass pre-employment drug screening
