What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Athletics Director, Strategic Communications & Brand Advancement position at NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)?
Oversee content creators to ensure strategic priorities and alignment of coverage for all 17 sport programs. Provide leadership and oversight of operations and staff to ensure a high standard of content strategy, brand development, creative ideation and media communications for all of UMBC Athletics, Physical Education & Recreation in consultation with the Director of Athletics or designated staff.
Serves as direct contact with all media representatives (i.e., print, online, radio, and television) interested in UMBC Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. Arranges in-game and post-game interviews as appropriate.
Serve as departmental liaison with all College publication offices, including Public Relations & Strategic Communications, and all media outlets on and off campus. Additionally, serve as departmental liaison with college historians and archivists. Responsible for all aspects of the website, including but not limited to : design, accuracy, updates, maintenance and content. Collaborates closely with the UMBC Athletics External Strategy team to ensure that all strategic content (e.g., website, digital, broadcast, etc.) effectively serves alumni, students, parents, recruits, fans, and media. Oversees both permanent and active photography files and statistical records of UMBC athletics.
Providing leadership within UMBC Athletics assuming Sport Supervision responsibilities. This position provides guidance and direction to staff, student-athletes & coaches of intercollegiate sports. Recruits, hires, and deploys freelance writers, photographers, designers, and stat crew as needed.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Director of Athletics, Recreation & Physical Education. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role and sport administration.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Five (5) years of experience in intercollegiate athletic administration is required.
