SUMMARY
This position is part of the community development team as an Outreach Specialist.
Specialist. As part of the outreach team, the Outreach Specialist works directly with vulnerable and under-served communities in identifying their needs and assisting their efforts at self-organization, resistance, and education. This is a relationship-focused position, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to empathize with people of greatly varied experiences and backgrounds as well as having an appreciation for community-centered solutions. As the
Outreach Specialist, this position will develop content for social media under the direction and supervision of the Director of Operations. This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, and X posts, info-graphics, slide decks, fliers, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Organize, participate in and promote events as directed by your supervisor or manager including but not limited to assisting in promoting grant goals and objectives.
2. Identify and foster relationships with existing community members, leaders, and organizers.
3. Support ongoing community programs with logistical and material coordination.
4. Develop radio scripts as directed.
5. Participate in on-air radio programming as directed.
6. Assist in identifying needs of the community.
7. Promote the organization and its services to the community.
8. Effectively work with team and help each other with tasks.
9. Provide outreach within the community that requires flexible work hours and work on weekends as needed.
10. Working with the radio station leadership, assists in prioritizing social media key performance indicators.
11. Develop social media content as directed in a timely manner.
12. Use social media marketing tools as appropriate.

13. Maintaining a strong and effective on line company voice through social media.
14. Interpret and translate as needed in Spanish/English
15. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in
- English and Spanish.

- Experience facilitating large groups.
- Able to follow protocols as established.
- Proficient in office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Skilled in creating and using Canva to develop informational fliers and announcements
- Skilled in the use social media tools like Instagram, X, Facebook
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate of Arts degree preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in outreach helpful.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be fully bilingual/fluent English and Spanish.
EQUIPMENT SKILLS
Must be competent in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of social media development
Must have Valid Driver's license
Must have car insurance
