NCI Affiliates is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and physical disabilities through vocational training and community living services. We are seeking passionate and motivated individuals to join our team as Community Living Services Instructors. This part-time role offers the opportunity to teach essential life skills and support individuals in achieving their personal and professional goals. Responsibilities
- Teach Independent Living Skills to individuals at their residence or in the community.
- Assist with daily living activities, including budgeting and navigating public transportation.
- Ensure individuals attend appointments and take medications appropriately.
- Develop and educate individuals on social skills and community interaction.
- Encourage proper leisure activities and the use of leisure time.
- Instruct and support the development of client advocacy skills.
- Enhance financial management skills and safeguard against abuse or exploitation.
- Facilitate the acquisition and improvement of adaptive skills and behaviors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- California Driver’s License for at least 2 years with no major infractions in the last 4 years.
- Basic computer and technology skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Flexibility with work schedule to meet company needs.
- Patience, compassion, and ability to be a role model for adults with disabilities.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Compensation
The anticipated hiring range for this role is $19.50 an hour to start.
