Overview:

This role provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate managers and employees at the site. This includes long-term planning, objective setting, policy formation, interpretation and management while providing latitude and discretion to subordinates. Accountable for projects and programs at the site. Work requires investigating and resolving a wide variety of highly unusual conditions that carry long-term implications. Requires developing new strategies, policies, practices, methods, programs or techniques and utilizing them to analyze and interpret difficult problems or situations and/or establishing new strategic direction that is site or multi-site specific.

Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Has overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs within a P&L, as well as methods and employees in a functional area. Makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters in area of responsibility to ensure achievement of objectives. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or company operations. Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers.

Working with Human Resources, assigns objectives, reviews performance and approves employee compensation, coaches for improved performance. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions normally involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior level managers. May represent the organization in public speaking venues and/or community events.

Detailed Description:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of IT asset disposition, data destruction, and e-waste recycling processes. Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with company policies, industry standards, environmental regulations as well as state and federal regulations. Acts as a liaison between Corporate and the site for communicating operational initiatives, accomplishments and challenges, and develop / maintain various global databases for sharing information.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of operations staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in operational processes and implement effective solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels of IT assets, equipment, and materials. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory through effective systems and procedures.
  • Client Relations: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide customized solutions. Maintain strong relationships to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety policies and procedures. Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and ensure the company's compliance with environmental and data security standards.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of operational processes. Use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and growth initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Oversees the development and management of operational budgets within a P&L. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and lead sustainability initiatives within the operations team. Drive efforts to reduce waste, increase recycling, and improve environmental performance.
  • As with all roles, there may be other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of processes and equipment used in tech electronics manufacturing/repair, such as AMS reverse logistics, advanced exchange services, and ITAD.
  • Extensive experience with leading ERP systems. Experience with implementing new ERP systems desirable.
  • Comprehensive experience in World Class Manufacturing/LEAN implementation (Green or Black belt strongly preferred).
  • In-depth understanding of business unit operations and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery, and profitability.
  • Ability to coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production metrics within a highly dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication skills with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to lead, manage, train, and motivate a diverse group of employees to achieve high production levels within tight time deadlines.
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.

Physical Demands:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
  • Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Occasional overnight travel is required.
  • Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.

Typical Experience:

  • No less than 10 years of relevant experience, to include progressive leadership roles.

Typical Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
