RSR and South Country Human Service Zones partner with the Department of Health and Human Services to deliver exceptional Economic Assistance programs to our community.
The Southeast Region is seeking an Eligibility Lead Worker (39-39-5880) for the Economic Assistance Department. This position will be housed in either RSR or South Country Human Service Zone.
The Economic Assistance Unit provides for the assessment and eligibility determination of applicants for a variety of programs by interpreting and applying complex state, federal, and county policies. This position requires knowledge of community resources and Economic Assistance programs including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Healthy Steps and General Assistance.
Additionally, as a Lead Eligibility Worker, you will be responsible for providing programmatic support and training, as well as Quality Control /Error Proofing activities.
To succeed in this position, you should have strong verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, collaboration, and decision-making skills. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs. You will need to have a strong understanding of complex program policies and procedures. An ideal candidate for this position will be organized and able to communicate effectively with diverse populations. You will have an eye for detail, be able to manage your time and priorities effectively and pride yourself on excellent communication skills, empathy, and being a team player. You will have a passion for helping others and making a difference in our community.
To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma or GED, PLUS one of the following:
- Completion of the eligibility worker two-year associate degree program and one year as an Eligibility Worker I
- Completion of the eligibility worker one-year certificate program and two years as an Eligibility Worker I
- Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program and two years as an Eligibility Worker I
- Graduation from high school or GED and three years work experience involving processing of claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, or housing assistance; work experience in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments/financial planning, computer/data processing fields plus two years an Eligibility Worker I
- Three years of any combination of the education and experience listed above and two years as an Eligibility Worker I
Some travel throughout the southeastern portion of ND could occur.
Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance
