Job Title: Continuous Improvement Manager- Safety & Quality
Compensation ($120,638k - $150,797k / VCP 15%)
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. ND Packaging is looking for a Continuous Improvement, Safety and Quality Manager who will assume the Safety, Quality, and CI supervision and management role across all shifts and departments by developing and enforcing process improvement through policies, procedures, and change management. In the first year of the role’s main focus will be attaining SQF certification for the plant. The role will report to Plant Manager and will require exceptional servant leadership to influence teams, willing to work beyond planned scope and be hands on when crisis situations arise. The candidate is expected to build relationships and influence change across all shifts and crews. Ideal candidate is passionate about manufacturing, people, and process improvement and has had experience operating or supervising manufacturing sequences prior to CI, Safety, and Quality roles with a success record in waste reduction and optimization of work processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
- Serve as a SQF champion by managing the scope of work defined by SQF consultant, ensuring implementation and timely completion of milestones and ensuring successful mock and final audit required for SQF certification
- Ownership and management of documentation required per SQF certification
- Development and Implementation of Safety programs and policies
- Conduct OSHA self-audit and stay in the loop on the latest OSHA regulations
- Develop and lead implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing/5S and Total Quality Management)
- Design, Perform, and Certify Training for Safety and Quality
Required Experience:
- 2-5 plus years experience in manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
- Record of SQF/ISO Practitioner / Implementation classes and courses for SQF/ISO Practitioner (The ISO 27001 Practitioner certification / SQF Practitioner Training Program)
- Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt Certification is preferred)
- Well versed in Regulatory Requirements and Standards involving Department of Labor: Human Relations, Occupational Safety, Health and FDA Food Safety Management.
- Under crisis conditions, will develop and implement special programs as the situation requires. Work with multiple improvement strategies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing/5S and Total Quality Management to develop, establish and monitor improvement processes to increase efficiencies throughout the business.
- Extreme ownership and organization is a must – show a record of successful project and program implementation in waste reduction, process optimization, or quality/safety improvement
- Ideal candidate is passionate about manufacturing and tirelessly working with the team to achieve forecasted results.
Preferred Experience:
- Experienced leader capable of achieving results and implementing project through and with other people from across organization without management title.
- Ability to efficiently and effectively document/manage/maintain records for risk assessment and analysis.
- Success record at companies that achieved SQF/ISO and/or similar certifications.
