Key Responsibilities:
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will:
- Assess, Diagnose, and Treat: Work with children, adolescents, adults, and elders to provide comprehensive mental health care.
- Prescribe Medications: Utilize your expertise to manage treatment plans in accordance with Alaska’s Nurse Practice Act.
- Collaborate: Partner with counselors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic client care.
- Document Care: Ensure timely and accurate medical records, including assessments, treatment plans, and billing entries.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create individualized treatment plans that incorporate the latest best practices in mental health care.
- Engage with Families: Communicate with guardians and significant others when appropriate, fostering a supportive network for your clients.
- Order Tests: Utilize diagnostic tests to monitor client progress and treatment effectiveness.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- A Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with specialization in psychiatry/mental health.
- An unencumbered license to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Alaska.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- A valid DEA number and no exclusions from federal health care programs.
- Strong documentation skills and experience navigating electronic health records.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
- Flexible Work Options: Available as part-time or full-time positions.
