Job Overview
The Assistant Operator plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of our facility by assisting with the maintenance and monitoring of equipment and processes. This position requires a proactive individual who is capable of performing various tasks related to water treatment and heavy equipment operation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment. Assume Class lll surface water Operator of Responsible charge duties. OEPA Class lll or higher Water Supply License is preferred. Will be on Call every other week. Willing to cover some weekend shifts. Able to respond and assist in water/sewer repairs in Northwest Ohio area. Must be able to respond physically to emergencies within One hour.

Duties

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform data collection and analysis to monitor system efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain equipment by conducting routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively as required for operational tasks.
• Utilize logic controllers to monitor system functions and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Execute heavy lifting tasks as necessary to support operational needs.
• Collaborate with team members to build and implement strategies for process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.

Skills

• Strong ability to maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Proficient in basic math for data analysis and measurement purposes.
• Experience with data collection techniques and analytical methods.
• Knowledge of water treatment processes is a plus.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including safety protocols.
• Understanding of logic controllers and their applications in operational settings.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
• Basic plumbing skills are advantageous for maintenance tasks.
