Construction Project Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to join our growing team in the Department of Transportation division. This role involves managing bridge and road construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and quality assurance. You will also be responsible for risk assessments, client communication, reporting, and forecasting.
The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee bridge and road construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to estimate material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Prepare take-offs, scopes of work, and bid packages for construction projects.
- Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain and analyze quotes.
- Develop and present cost estimates and project proposals.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement quality control measures.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and reports.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Identify new project opportunities and business leads.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in bridge and road construction project management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, contract negotiation, and cost control.
- Experience working with Self-Performing or Specialty Contractors.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in sales/marketing is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with project management software such as Procore or Bluebeam.
Work Environment & Travel
- This role involves both office and job site visits. Work conditions may include exposure to varied temperatures, high or confined spaces, loud environments, and indoor/outdoor settings.
- Travel to job sites is required; travel expenses will be compensated if applicable.
