The Restaurant Catering Sales Manager is responsible for finalizing group catering business to meet/exceed sales goals. As a Catering Sales Manager, you will solicit, negotiate, and book new/repeat business via outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc. Requirements of the position include a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering, food & beverage, and hospitality professions; knowledge of NDM Hospitality products and services; effective communication skills; and the ability to negotiate, influence, and sell.
Qualifications and Standards
- College Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years' experience in an event capacity.
- Must be a self-starting team player that contributes positive energy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent ability to conduct group presentations, written and oral.
- Detail-minded and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary.
- Strong business planning, account planning, and budget management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be creative to develop strategies that will drive revenue.
- Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required, including working weekends, holidays, and hours exceeding 40 .
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk long distances is required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create Catering and Group Sales offerings/marketing collateral for NDM's South Florida BurgerFi locations.
- Create and execute a strategy with the goal of utilizing the BurgerFi menu offerings to drive catering and in-store sales for the various restaurants.
- Manage all leads, prospects, definite business, and ensure consistent and proper reporting to communicate with business stakeholders on the financial impacts of the catering/marketing efforts.
- Utilize our catering/marketing tracking form for the organization and storage of all activities with leads, prospects, and definite business.
- Manage the ongoing marketing efforts built to generate new leads and optimize cost per lead acquisitions.
- Propose budgets needed for marketing initiatives, track actual spending to these budgets, and manage the costs to stay within these budget parameters.
- Manage the Bloom Intelligence CRM / Reputation Management software to maximize our ability to re-market to the guests in our database. Also, manage the reputation management responses to guests.
- Conduct physical visits to business opportunities and guerilla marketing efforts.
- Pre, during, and post communication with potential and definite business.
- Book venues and negotiate fees.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the restaurant management teams and carry out activities for group sales or catering events.
- Coordinate details of events such as conferences, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, charity events, surprise parties, trade shows, sales meetings, and business meetings.
- Manage the GroupRaise platform.
- Prepare invitations and send out at appropriate times in collaboration with the GM/Guest.
- Work with the guest of honor to ensure all requests are met in collaboration with the GM.
- Hire, train, and educate staff on proper event procedures in collaboration with the GM.
