What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Specialist position at NDZ Performance?
NDZ Performance is seeking a skilled Social Media Specialist with strong graphic design and video editing abilities to drive audience growth and engagement across our social media platforms: Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. This role is ideal for someone who can create engaging, platform-specific content efficiently while navigating the unique advertising policies and regulations associated with the firearm and tactical gear industry.
This position is in-house, 40 hours a week M-F. We are looking to make a hire as soon as possible.
Primary Responsibilities:
Content Planning & Execution:
· Develop and manage content calendars to align with NDZ’s marketing objectives, ensuring a strategic mix of promotional, educational, and engaging content.
· Utilize ready-made graphic templates to streamline project timelines, maintain consistency, and fast-track content creation while keeping design quality high.
· Employ intermediate to advanced Adobe Creative Cloud skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) to customize and optimize visuals, ensuring all graphics and videos are on-brand and high-impact.
2. Community Engagement & Management:
· Actively engage with NDZ’s community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions, building a positive brand presence and fostering customer loyalty.
· Promote user-generated content with branded hashtags like #NDZPerformance, showcasing customer builds and fostering community interaction.
· Monitor sentiment and escalate any sensitive or policy-related issues to ensure compliance and maintain a positive community experience.
3. Cross-Department Collaboration:
· Photo & Video Team: Work with the in-house media team to align on creative needs and ensure visuals support NDZ’s marketing goals.
· Marketplace Managers: Coordinate with marketplace managers to produce assets for NDZ’s website and e-commerce platforms like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Walmart.
· Laser Department: Partner with the laser team to develop custom images for NDZ’s laser library, expanding the variety of customizable content.
4. Compliance with Advertising Policies:
· Prioritize understanding of advertising regulations and policies within the firearm and tactical gear industry as they pertain to major social media platforms.
· Ensure that all content adheres to platform guidelines and legal restrictions, avoiding disruptions in visibility and engagement.
· Regularly review updates to platform advertising rules and consult with compliance resources to keep NDZ’s social media practices fully compliant.
5. Data Analysis & Strategy:
· Track and analyze social media performance metrics, using insights to refine content strategies and support audience growth.
· Conduct A/B testing on content formats, posting times, and visual elements to maximize engagement and reach.
· Report regularly on key metrics, providing insights that inform NDZ’s broader marketing strategy.
6. Platform Expertise & Trend Monitoring:
· Stay informed about platform changes, trends, and best practices, especially as they impact engagement and compliance within regulated industries.
· Integrate trending formats—such as reels, short-form videos, and interactive stories—into NDZ’s content to maintain relevance and boost engagement.
Required Experience & Skills:
· Experience: 1-3 years in social media management, ideally in e-commerce or regulated industries such as firearms or tactical gear.
· Graphic Design & Video Editing: Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), including experience using and adapting ready-made templates to fast-track projects.
· Platform Proficiency: Strong understanding of social media best practices, with experience on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and other relevant platforms.
· Policy & Compliance Awareness: Ability to navigate and prioritize compliance with platform advertising policies specific to the firearm and tactical gear industry.
· Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for community engagement and cross-department collaboration.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
