Job Summary
The GCM Territory Manager is the key liaison between Walmart stores and the Neal Mast Greenhouses team. This position requires an individual that is service focused, can lead, monitor and train associates to execute merchandising best practices as directed by the Program Manager and Walmart stores U.S.
Duties
- Weekly store visits throughout assigned area as allocated by hours to unload and work all applicable live good products being delivered to the store
- Hire, supervise, manage and direct the weekly activities of the NMG merchandising team in assigned area
. * Budget and manage expenses including travel time and mileage
- Manage in store labor and hit allocated in-store hours for both seasonal direct reports and their own hours
- Communicate Walmart’s corporate direction to Walmart store management, associates and all NMG merchandising associates.
- Train Walmart associates and NMG associates in assigned area on best practices for merchandising as directed by Walmart HO, suppliers, Regional Manager, and/or Program Director
- Assist with inventory control and product flow from the Greenhouse to the stores by providing feedback and communicating store requests
- Attend Walmart and Neal Mast Greenhouses training meetings as needed
- Weekly reporting, including photographs, surveys, COEs and any other reporting or assignments requested
- Performs other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to, helping in other areas as needed (mileage and travel compensated accordingly) .
- Work a minimum of 2,340 hours annually (this includes vacations and holidays) and hit the annual requirement for in-store hour
Requirements
Hours/Days: 45 hours per week based on seasonal needs – six days a week, including weekends are required during peak seasons of spring and fall.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent with advanced management/leadership training in a retail environment or any combination of education, military service and work experience resulting in the necessary skills and abilities for the position.
Experience: Previous experience managing multiple direct reports. Previous experience in retail merchandising. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Abilities/Strengths: Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and comfortable with speaking to groups. Strong organizational skills, strong work ethic and self directed. Ability to build relationships with people at all levels inside and outside the organization. Able to effectively communicate company strategy and motivate teams.
Physical Requirements: Able and available to travel to and/or between stores. Must be able to spend a long periods of time on your feet. Must be able to lift, move, carry – pots and/or trays of flowers and hanging baskets weighing up to 30 lbs. Must be able to push/pull rolling racks of potted plants weighing up to 500 lbs (with assistance on heavy racks). Majority of work environment will be in Lawn and Garden Centers in all kinds of weather

Pay: $43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
