Garden Center Retail Associate

Job Summary:

The Garden Center Retail Associate works in a fast-paced environment that involves constant interaction with customers to deliver friendly and courteous service. This role requires a passion for plants and a commitment to providing excellent customer experiences.

Job Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales:

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering their questions, and offering helpful advice on plant selection, care, and gardening techniques.
• Actively engage with customers to identify their needs and recommend appropriate products.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Inventory Management:

• Stock shelves and displays neatly and attractively.
• Ensure accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks.
• Water plants regularly and appropriately to maintain freshness and quality

Product Knowledge:

• Develop a strong understanding of plant varieties, their care requirements, and associated products (e.g., fertilizers, pesticides).
• Stay informed about new products, seasonal offerings, and promotions.

Store Operations:

• Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, security checks, and light cleaning duties.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Training & Development:

• On-the-job training will be provided on all aspects of the role, including product knowledge, customer service skills, register operation, and store procedures.
• Ongoing training opportunities will be available to enhance skills and knowledge.
