As Dental Biller & Coder, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to serve primarily low-income uninsured or underinsured residents of Chicago's medically underserved communities. Your expertise i n analyzing billing trends, identifying opportunities for improvement in revenue cycle management and explaining insurance coverage and billing processes to patients, will further solidify our position as one of the largest providers of community-based primary care in the city.

Key Responsibilities
- Dental Claims Management: Prepare, submit, and track dental claims to insurance companies and third-party payers.
- Claims Resolution: Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for dental services.
- Billing Management: Oversee the operations of the dental billing department, including charge entry, claims submissions, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management.
- Billing Specialist: Act as a lead in communicating with patients to explain charges, handle billing inquiries, and clarify any discrepancies.
- Billing experience required; coding certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in dental billing and coding, preferably within an FQHC.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Attention to detail, proficiency in data entry, knowledge of EOBs, and strong documentation skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to handle billing disputes.
- High School diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree (Business Admin) preferred.
- Certification in dental billing and coding preferred.
