Job Description:
Casey Optical Co, a leading private healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated and professional Patient Services Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care by serving as the first point of contact for our patients and ensuring smooth operations within the office. You will be responsible for coordinating patient interactions, handling inquiries, managing appointments, and supporting clinical staff in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner as they arrive at the office.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and messages, providing information and addressing patient needs.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing appointment calendars for multiple providers.
- Verify patient information and ensure all necessary documentation is complete prior to visits.
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate data entry into the system.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow and minimal wait times.
- Handle patient inquiries, provide updates on treatment plans, and manage any concerns with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ensure office operations run smoothly, including maintaining an organized and clean waiting area.
- Assist with insurance verification, billing inquiries, and necessary paperwork.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and office equipment is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of insurance verification, billing, and scheduling systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar office software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Bilingual preferred
