Assistant Attendance Secretary– Middle School. Lane 4 - $20.50 per hour, 5.75 hours per day, 5 days per week, 190 days per year. Must be at least 18 years of age or older to apply. There are no benefits with this position. Type test is required; contact Human Resources at 801-354-7400 to schedule. The test will be administered at Nebo School District Human Resources Office located at 350 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Placement on the salary schedule will be reviewed by supervisor and finalized through the Human Resource and Payroll Departments. Purpose Statement
The job of School Assistant Secretary - Middle School is done for the purpose/s of providing complex and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the school-site principal and other administrators; conveying information regarding school functions and procedures; ensuring efficient operation of support functions; and coordinating projects and site activities.
This job reports to the Building Principal
Experience Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.

Essential Functions
- Will assist with clerical support with assigned personnel
- communicate information to staff and the public
- provide complete and accurate records and provide information and direction as may be requested by the public.
- Will help track attendance for the school year.
- Answers telephone for the purpose of directing calls to the appropriate personnel and answering questions.
- Evaluates situations (e.g. involving other staff, students, parents, the public, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and materials (e.g. teacher supplies, teacher workroom materials, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring items' availability.
- Maintains a wide variety of manual and electronic files and records (e.g. accident reports, principal files, purchase orders, SAGE program, etc.) for the purpose of providing documentation in accordance with administrative and legal requirements.
- Performs clerical functions (e.g. copying, faxing, filing, sorting mail, etc.) for the purpose of helping the school run more efficiently.
- Performs first aid on students (e.g. emergency situations, administering medication, illness, etc.) for the purpose of taking care of their medical needs.
- Prepares a wide variety of reports, documents and correspondence (e.g. accident reports, registration reports, locker assignments, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
- Processes a wide variety of documents and materials (e.g. new student registration, withdrawals, medical records, immunization records, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information in compliance with program, district, state and/or federal requirements.
- Responds to a wide variety of inquiries from internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
- Supports assigned administrative personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
