Position Overview: This role provides high-level support to the Nebraska Beef Council office as needed, including accounting, customer service, receptionist, administrative, and office management duties. Develops and maintains organizational systems, documents business processes, and coordinates meetings to help ensure the office runs more efficiently.

Specific Responsibilities:
· Answer and screen incoming calls and visitors and provide information or direct questions to appropriate staff.
· Responsible for maintaining daily deposits, checkoff remittance forms, compliance and other financial duties on a daily and monthly basis.
· Implement and maintain administrative procedures to enhance office efficiency and support the overall goals of the organization.
· Direct all mail and correspondence to the appropriate staff.
· Send materials requested from collection points, consumer requests and assist staff as needed.
· Send press releases to media outlets.
· General secretarial duties as required.
· Responsible for coordinating and assembling board books and other Board of Director needs.
· Responsible for planning and coordination of Directors meetings and other events.
· Coordinate Council calendar.
· Assist the Executive Director with duties as requested.
· Coordinate with Office Manager checkoff remittance, office maintenance and inventory.
· Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· EDUCATION – High School Diploma required.
· EXPERIENCE – Five or more years of receptionist or administrative assistant experience required.
· EQUIVALENCY - None
· CERTIFICATION(S) – None
· SKILLS – Must have a thorough understanding of professional office procedures and management. Must be able to work with customers and professionally interact with the general public. Knowledge of cattle and/or beef industry beneficial. Must have excellent writing and editing skills and be proficient in general communication and computer programs such as Word and Excel. Be a “team player”, a “can do” person, easy to work with, with a dedication to get the job done. Must be self-disciplined and display an aptitude for detail. Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
Employment: Part-time (20-25 hours per week, M-F 8:00am-1:00pm)

Salary: Salary is commensurate based on experience.
