Title: Phlebotomist (Collection) Technician
Company: Nebraska Community Blood Bank
Location: Lincoln, NE
Schedule: Monday-Saturday, opportunity to be scheduled between the hours of 6:30am - 8:00pm as needed for donor center hours and blood drives.
Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week

SUMMARY
This position ensures that life saving whole blood collection is done in a friendly professional manner that is consistent with current clinical practices and results in safe products for patients. Provides excellent customer service for blood donors and blood drive sponsors as well as maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The Collection Technician (Phlebotomist) is responsible for assuring quality blood collection services for Nebraska Community Blood Bank.
2. Under the direction and guidance of the Collection Site Supervisor, the Collections Technician participates in the donor collection process both at fixed donor sites and blood drive locations.
3. Provides excellent customer service to donors and guests.
4. Ensures blood drive screening and collections meet all requirements assuring product and donor safety.
5. Performs all tasks according to standard operating procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Specialized training beyond high school such as: phlebotomy, nursing assistant, medial assistant, EMT or one year of college coursework
License:
Valid driver’s license
Physical Demands:
Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Other:
Phlebotomy certification or previous medical assistant experience is preferred
CPR certification or ability to obtain
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
Excellent communication skills
