A day in the life of the HR Business Partner is never the same, but, in this role, you will establish yourself as the go-to partner for Agency leadership regarding employee performance and employee relations topics. You will build strong relationships with all levels within the Agency, coach and train leadership to promote a culture that supports teammate development and engagement, write assorted professional documents, and help influence the right outcomes while driving HR issues through to resolution.
The successful candidate will serve as the employee relations expert, and first point of contact for HR-related topics to teammates located in 5 of our Districts in Central and Western Nebraska which are headquartered in Grand Island, Gering, North Platte, McCook, and Ainsworth and will office out of our North Platte location.

Pay range is $26.318 - $41.215 per hour. The pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints if approved.
JOB DUTIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coach, guide, and advise Agency leadership on a variety of employee performance and employee relations topics to support them in being the best leaders they can be.
- Serve as an HR subject matter expert and Agency representative regarding performance coaching, conflict resolution, corrective action, workplace complaints/investigations, Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission (NEOC) complaints, grievances, state and federal employment law, and Contract and Rules interpretation and compliance.
- Write professional, formal, and informal correspondence, reports, letters, and responses applicable to the employee relations-related responsibilities listed above.
- Champion both employee perspective and Agency needs to promote a positive, collaborative, respectful, and continually improving and engaging work environment.
- Conduct investigations to include information and data gathering, analyzing information, validating conclusions, and making recommendations for appropriate action.
- Partner with fellow HR Business Partners as well as the HR Center of Expertise (COE) to align Agency business objectives with HR initiatives, policies, and procedures.
- Be highly ethical and responsible for customer needs, demonstrate strong business acumen, and provide a high level of customer service.
- Use and manage data to track insights and interpret trends.
- Stay up to date on employee relations-related case law, best practices, legislation, and federal and state employment law.
- Participate in and lead HR projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior employee performance and/or employee relations experience. Experience in, or a strong desire to learn to write a variety of formal and informal documents. HR Business Partner experience. Experience collecting and analyzing data. Experience conducting investigations.
Other:
- Valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Regular and reliable attendance is also required.
