Nature of Work
Peru State College is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as the Budget Director. This position is a crucial part of the financial operations of the college and the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our mission and goals. This position is responsible for budgeting, budget reconciliation, budget monitoring and related financial reporting. This individual will prepare the biennial budget request, current budget projections, and future year budget analysis. The Budget Director will provide analytical support for routine budget projects and will assist with establishing College initiatives by providing budget analysis and will advise administration and staff regarding budgetary implications and different funding options. This individual will work directly with many internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities will also include assisting with the following tasks: perform budget loads, verify payrolls, prepare reports for the Board of Trustees meetings, assist with compiling information for the annual audit, daily review and posting of accounts payable, preparation of select monthly accounting entries and serving as secondary travel coordinator. Will also complete special projects as assigned by the Comptroller, Vice President for Administration and Finance and other campus stakeholders. This position is exempt with regard to FLSA.

5. Prepare reports and surveys for external entities as needed.
6. Prepare and monitor Grant budgets.
7. Prepares IPEDS personnel and financial data.
8. Prepares personnel contracts and personnel budget loads.
9. Verification of payroll, both montly and bi-weekly.
10. Assist the VPAF and HR Director with Special Projets and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the VPAF.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field and prior related work experience is required. Bachelor’s degree outside of the accounting field may be considered if individual possesses extensive training and/or work experience in the accounting or bookkeeping area in addition to the bachelor’s degree. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience in preparing accurate financial documentation is required. Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills. The successful candidate is required to have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and must have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and interact collaboratively with both internal and external constituents. Must be able to process confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA preferred.
Experience with governmental and fund accounting, and experience in the area of financial reporting strongly preferred.
