Nature of Work
To provide leadership for the accounting functions of the college. Performs professional accounting work in the recording and compiling of audit working papers and preparing and analyzing various college, system, state and federal financial reports.
Work include direct responsibility for general accounting, cash management, accounts payable, SAP accounting system, employee expense reimbursements, fixed assets including capitalization/inventory, purchasing card reconciliations ,and assisting with audit.
This position works closely with the Administration and Finance, Budget and Grants, and Student Financial Services offices.

Examples of Work Performed
1. Responsible to the Comptroller for general accounting, cash management, accounts payable, SAP system management, employee expense reimbursements, travel processes, fixed assets, P card reconciliations, and assisting with audit.
2. The fiscal audit preparation in coordination with the Comptroller. This includes serving as a key point of contact with the auditors regarding day-to-day matters.
3. Monitor the college’s system of accounts and keep accurate records of all transactions and assets.
4. Maintain and develop open lines of communication and strong working relationships with staff to meet the needs of the college.
5. Review journal entries, cash receipts, employee expense reimbursements, fund summary reports, bank reconciliations and state sales tax report to ensure accuracy and compliance with college, system, and state policies and procedures.
6. Monitor fund accounts to ensure sufficient cash balances and coordinate cash needs with investments.
7. Monitor and reconcile financial aid programs, including loans and grants, in coordination with the Financial Aid Director.
8. Provide leadership in the review, improvement, and implementation of systems to enhance the use of technology in general accounting procedures.
9. Review internal controls and internal auditing to ensure proper reporting while safeguarding the college’s assets, in conjunction with the Comptroller.
10. Supervise Accounting Office personnel.
11. Perform duties as assigned by the Comptroller.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
- A minimum of three years of accounting experience or related business experience.
- Thorough knowledge of governmental accounting systems.
- Knowledge of procedures and principles governing taxation and revenue.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing fiscal record keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in a college is highly desired and knowledge with SAP accounting system is preferred.
