FIRST SHIFT
Need It Now Delivers a leading logistics provider has an immediate job opening for a dependable Yard Jockey. This is a full-time position and the hours revolve around the FIRST SHIFT with occasional some Saturdays. We need some flexibility with some mornings if needed. Some days will be starting earlier or ending later.
Schedule: Need Flexibility with days and Hours of Service
- Must have a clear understanding of a yard management system
- Must be able to perform yard checks with updates to parking via handheld device/scanner
- Responsible for the movement and spotting of trailers to facilitate the needs of the warehouse/facility and security team.
- Responsible for timely movements and knowledge of on-hand inventory, maintaining a neat and orderly lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency
- Maneuver trucks and outside carriers to proper staging areas throughout the yard
- Must be able to perform pre and post-trip inspections on yard machine
- Must have clear communication via cell phone or radio back to the dock, dispatch, or office on any potential issues
- Operate yard truck in a safe manner driving under 15 mph in and around the facility.
- Must comply with facility personnel and safety requirements.
Requirements:
- Experience with an Ottawa yard horse
- One year of yard switcher experience is required. If no yard experience then 2 years of tractor
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends during peak times
