The NEEDS Center is looking for an HR Generalist who will assist in running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this is a great opportunity with a growing non-profit organization. Responsibilities will include: administering benefits, leaves, workers compensation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enforcing company policies and practices.
This position is ONSITE in our Andover, MA, office
Hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Mon-Fri
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting the Recruitment team with onboarding of new hires.
- Assisting the Training Department with covering for orientation as needed, training tracking and follow-up with employees. Willingness to become a trainer for CPR/FA.
- Assisting the Director of HR to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to workers compensation, benefits, and leaves; performance and talent management; recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.
- Assisting with preparing for licensing and audit reviews.
- Participating and assisting the HR Director with open enrollment.
- Assisting in helping with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attending and participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
What we are looking for from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- At least two years of human resource management experience required.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred.

The NEEDS Center is a non-profit organization that specializes in providing services and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). There is a particular emphasis on providing services to individuals with interfering challenging behavior and/or dual diagnosis. The services and supports provided by the NEEDS Center draw on the best of both disciplines in order to assist individuals to become as independent as they can be.
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
