The Position:
Neelands is searching for a full-time permanent Construction Start-Up Technician to join our construction team. We are currently seeking candidates in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Construction Start-Up Technician will work closely with the team on repairs, installations, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of refrigeration systems in South-Eastern, USA.
Job Description
Respond to service calls as well as scheduled maintenance and repair tasks for refrigeration and mechanical equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints to facilitate installation and repairs.
Perform diagnostics to identify malfunctions and defects in equipment.
Install and weld equipment as needed.
Troubleshoot systems post-repair to ensure proper functionality.
Learn and apply best service practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Communicate effectively with team members to update all relevant information regarding assignments.
Assist in expanding the service area and region.
Provide basic tools necessary for the trade; additional specialized tools will be provided.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and clients.
Maintain service vehicle inventory and ensure cleanliness.
Perform other duties as required, including collaborating with other departments.
Contribute to rework renovations and remodels as needed.
Complete punch lists related to system operations.
Work with low voltage controls, leveraging prior experience.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
Valid State driver’s license and insurability in a company vehicle
Must be reliable and able to travel within parts of South-Eastern, USA
Must be able to read and understand blueprints
Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
5 years of experience in refrigeration, mechanical service, or related fields.
Previous experience as a foreman or lead pipefitter, with a desire to focus more on technical aspects.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to read blueprints effectively.
Experience with rework renovations and remodels.
Familiarity with low voltage controls is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong commitment to customer service and relationship-building.
