We are seeking an experienced Ignition SCADA Developer with strong Python programming skills and advanced SQL expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead the implementation of high-performance industrial automation solutions for manufacturing sites using Inductive Automation's Ignition platform. Ignition is a powerful software platform for creating supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, human-machine interface (HMI) applications, and comprehensive industrial automation solutions. It offers a versatile environment for building graphical interfaces, managing data acquisition, implementing control logic, and seamlessly integrating with various industrial systems and protocols. • Design, develop, and deploy SCADA systems, HMI applications and Web applications using Ignition for manufacturing environments
• Develop and maintain web-based applications for remote monitoring and control of manufacturing processes
• Integrate Ignition systems with SQL databases for efficient data management and analysis
• Create custom modules, scripts, and applications using Python to meet specific manufacturing project requirements
• Optimize system performance and implement best practices for security and reliability in industrial settings
• Provide technical support and training to end-users in manufacturing facilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful automation projects Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
• Advanced Python programming skills, including :
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming (Java) and functional programming paradigms
• Experience with Python libraries relevant to industrial automation
• Ability to develop complex algorithms and data processing scripts
• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
• Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SCADA systems
• Experience with query optimization techniques and execution plan analysis
• Knowledge of indexing strategies and their impact on query performance
• Strong web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Knowledge of UI / UX design principles and best practices for manufacturing interfaces
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols
• Experience in designing and programming Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) for production lines
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven experience implementing Ignition SCADA systems in manufacturing sites
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and quality control systems
• Experience integrating Ignition with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• Experience with real-time data collection, analysis, and reporting for production metrics
• Develop custom Python modules for Ignition to extend functionality for manufacturing-specific needs
• Design and implement RESTful APIs using Python for system integration of manufacturing environments This position description is intended to cover the most significant, ongoing job functions and competency areas. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• 5 years of experience working with Ignition SCADA in manufacturing environments
• Ignition certification (Core or Gold)
• Java programming experience
• Experience with consuming and creating Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for manufacturing systems integration
• Knowledge of MQTT and IIoT concepts applied to smart manufacturing
• Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs or Other commonly used in manufacturing Physical Requirements
• Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects Travel Requirements
• Up to 25% travel may be required to other Neenah Foundry Company locations. Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
