Product Engineer II

Purpose: To provide technical expertise to improve our current HD products, support customers, sales members, and internal operations.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field
- Minimum 5 years’ design engineering experience in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge and proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and MS Office Suite.
- Able to present information and interface directly with all levels of technical and managerial personnel
- Working knowledge of the mechanical properties of a variety of materials including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, rubbers, plastics, and urethanes.
- Good understanding of various manufacturing processes and associated capabilities and tolerance limits.
- Able to understand mechanical components and systems, problem solve and troubleshoot the most difficult challenges with these types of products, then lead effort to identify and implement corrective actions.
- Exposure to working conditions in industrial environments without environmental controls.
- Lift up to 50lbs.
- Able to train and perform work on and around conveyor systems with limited accessibility – including points that are often many stories above the ground floor.
- Travel up to 20% of time.
- Serve as the primary HD Product Engineering liaison supporting for both North American facilities in the manufacturing of HD MBF products.
- Coordinate with Tool Room to provide direction and functional requirements of custom HD Product “Specials” builds, prototypes, special equipment, and tooling designed for HD products.
- Works closely with and helps improve our ARAS PLM system and support the ongoing adoption of this platform across all Flexco locations worldwide.
- Developing technology and product concepts through research activities as assigned.
- Define and coordinate internal and external (field) testing to understand product requirements and validate and verify new designs.
- Assign and prioritize work for technical support personnel—test technicians, designers / detailers, interns.
- Lead special projects and tasks to support implementation of department and project goals. Work on special projects as assigned.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement programs and suggestion system as required.
