The Program Manager will be responsible for a variety of functions related to the strategy, general management and business operations across the company and its businesses. This role is specifically responsible for the management and delivery the overall program roadmap. This role requires a Program Manager to have strong leadership, communication and analytical skills who is an expert in project management. This position is responsible for the management of day to day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large-scale projects. Prepares reports for management regarding status of a portfolio of projects. This position requires a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Keys to success for this position are based on the incumbent's ability to work successfully with project team members while still ensuring that projects are completed successfully and with resource and time constraints.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Develop process to streamline projects across cross-functional teams
- Direct cross-functional and / or cross-segment teams
- Predict emerging business needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them
- Develop and manage project plans to achieve objectives
- Solves unique and complex problems that have been escalated with broad impact on the business
- Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
- Influence senior leadership, as needed
- Lead and oversee multiple projects of significant complexity, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget; and issues are escalated to appropriate upper management
- Implement detailed project plans, budgets and resource allocations using the company's Project Management Methodology and keep updated
- Ensure the program management reporting process is updated with appropriate information
- Prepare and compile periodic progress reports or higher-level reporting of projects to management
- Mentor and train project resources for their role in project from other business lines concerning the planning and implementation of a project
- Maintain day-to-day contract with business leads or external customer interaction when applicable for large-scale projects
- Provide weekly status reports on each project assigned
- Maintain detailed work plans updated with status and resource changes
- Conduct Post Go Live evaluation of the project's goals, objectives and measures and provides the Business Line Director with the written copy of the evaluation in a timely fashion
- Develops and oversees programmatic project plans including delineated project tasks, resource requirements, interdependencies and schedules
- Coordinates multiple large simultaneous projects and initiatives with ability to effectively influence operational strategies
- Assembles project teams and ensures that schedules are met, and standards adhered to
- Facilitates, leads effective stakeholder and team project meetings while ensuring meetings are recorded and actions / issues are followed up and
- Contributes and makes recommendations to strategic plans
- Identifies risk and issues and create mitigation and contingency process so that there is a successful project completion
- Develop options and / or recommendations and communications to appropriate project / business lead for resolution
- Measure project performance of all projects you manage using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances (scope and costs), identify risks with mitigations, issues with contingency plans and perform any required corrective actions, and communicate results to all stakeholders
- Engage in on-going performance management of staff including coaching, mentoring, development, training and succession planning to include hiring and termination decisions. Provides guidance, leadership and mentorship to project managers, senior project managers and / or project coordinators
- Other duties as assigned
