What are the responsibilities and job description for the Online Production Supervisor position at Neiman Marcus Group Careers Careers?
Your Role
You will manage all Online Production products and current projects for Bergdorf Goodman, which includes providing daily status updates, action plans, and assignments for production and image retouching. In this role, it is critical that metrics not on target are to be communicated and escalated immediately (image edits, production and silo queues, clone image lists, etc.). As the Supervisor, you will elevate and create action plans on any daily queue over 2000. You will report to the Graphic Production Manager and manage a team of mostly remote associates.
What You’ll Do
· Perform all facets of managing retouch artists and production staff, including performance assessment, sick time, etc.
· Anticipate and report workload issues: problem solving solutions with Manager.
· Act as consultant/liaison to outside departments for partnership on projects/initiatives. Provide clear and concise solutions.
· Color manipulation, image retouching, and preparation of studio photography files for delivery to web and print.
· Partner with Technology Solutions Manager to automate tasks for greater efficiency.
· Schedule biweekly touch bases with all direct reports for knowledge share.
· Ensure Manager has working knowledge of all basic activities.
· Maintain workflow/procedure documentation.
· Crosstrain all parties to perform all production-related activities.
· Ensure all direct reports are working 40-hours during peak production periods.
· Answer all correspondence in a timely fashion, most often by the end of day.
· Mentor/educate employees for their personal growth/satisfaction while positioning the business for success.
· Provide accurate/timely employee feedback, encourage sound work habits, and take advantage of teachable moments to improve unsatisfactory behavior.
· Pilot the Online Production team to the next level by providing structure and support for direct reports while encouraging fresh ideas and striving for excellence in all aspects of their work.
· Perform other duties as assigned
· The position may require occasional overtime and weekend, holiday, and nighttime shift hours.
What You Bring
· You are dependable and motivated with an excellent work ethic.
· You must be able to work in a team environment but be capable of self-directed action as required.
· You have effective communications skills, specifically with the ability to listen and understand written and verbal instructions and the ability to communicate information and instructions to fellow team members effectively.
· Must be familiar with the common technical language of the trade.
· Proficiency on Mac OS/iOS based operating systems and peripherals
· Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite tools
· Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite products
· Your specific Photoshop skills include:
o Retouching
o Cropping
o Cloning
o Creating composite images
o Color correction
o Creating and working with paths and layers
o Batch file renaming
o All facets of file manipulation
o File Management
o Knowledge of DAM database workflows
