Nelson Associates Architectural Engineering, a full service architectural and engineering firm, is seeking to hire a construction services representative. This is an administrative level position requiring knowledge in reading architectural, civil/structural, mechanical, and electrical construction documents, with the ability to manage project budgets and personnel. This individual will report to an officer of the company or the officer’s designated employees. This position requires site observation and assessment of conformance with the firm’s construction documents, and interaction with the firm’s professional and technical personnel during the bidding/construction phase work.
Minimum Education: Two year college degree in a technical field, preferably in the construction, architectural, or engineering fields.
Minimum Experience: 10 years
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend construction meetings, review contractor schedules, prepare meeting minutes, and answer contractor questions/RFIs regarding construction documents.
- Review/monitor scheduling and time spent on the construction phase of projects in order to meet utilization targets and stay within project budgets.
- Provide document review prior to construction and report to the project manager any discrepancies or potential issues.
- Serve as liaison between contractor and project team for optimum communication and minimal disruption for project manager and technical staff.
- Prepare detailed construction cost estimates for projects, working with project team and using available resources.
- Support the process and procedures set forth in the construction documents and reinforce these procedures with all contractors.
- Assist the project managers with change orders, punch lists, and closeout documents.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible in all interactions with clients.
- Articulate the firms mission and goals to provide full service architectural and engineering services to the community.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as directed.
- Ability to work with multi-discipline project teams.
- Ability to work independently to effectively complete routine tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that are well organized.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
