As an Estimator at Nelson Builders, Inc. you will be estimating project costs and managing customer relationships through the construction process.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in residential construction with a comprehensive understanding of best practices, materials, and building codes.
- Education: Minimum of an Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Chief Architect and JobTread is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Professionalism: Must project a professional image and maintain a positive attitude.
- License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities:
- Project Assessment: Evaluate client needs, determine project feasibility, and provide accurate initial project estimates.
- Specification Drafting: Create detailed project specifications ensuring all items are covered in contracts and drawings.
- Coordination: Work with the production team to determine in-house costs and liaise with vendors for external costs.
- Change Orders: Efficiently estimate, process, and manage change orders.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare comprehensive estimates for materials, equipment, labor, subcontractors, and other project-related tasks.
- Reporting: Generate and submit reports related to estimating as requested by the General Manager.
- Budget Verification: Ensure all sales budgets are achievable prior to the commencement of construction.
