Position Overview:
The Director of New Business Development is responsible for top-line growth in the assigned market segment(s) in North America. This role develops the targeted growth strategies for new and replacement business. This includes prioritizing and managing the acquisition targets, costing & quoting activity, quote approvals and the technical and commercial offer. The position reports to the VP of Global Sales & Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Strategic revenue growth planning, e.g. developing market and customer roadmap strategy, defining strategic priorities and setting acquisition targets.
- Management of acquisitions, e.g. definition of technical and commercial offer and quote approval for each region.
- Responsible for generating sales growth and new business opportunities with customer account(s) and end markets
- Management of the customer relationship through the proper interfaces according to the customer organization and decision process.
- Global customer satisfaction as measured through the appropriate metrics.
- Assists in creating functional strategies and specific objectives to support the functional infrastructure
- Ensures the adherence to the organization’s Sales policies and procedures
- Develops revenue plan for the specific customers within the market(s)
- Works cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing internally as well as with the same Customer functions
- Negotiate commercial agreements/contracts with customers which are beneficial to the Company
- Other duties as required
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field required
- MBA preferred
- 5 years plus years Commercial experience in an Automotive, Commercial Vehicle, Agriculture, Construction, Marine, Railway, Powersports, Power Generation and/or Industrial field
- 8 years plus of managerial experience required
- Customer facing experience preferred
- Product / Process design and development knowledge
- Exhaust or Powertrain systems understanding
- Tier 1 parts experience a strong plus (Sales, Engineering, Program Management)
- Someone who takes complete ownership of all financial aspects of their account(s)
- Strategic thinker with high business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to grow the business relationship with the customer.
