Position Overview:
Our Senior Corporate Accountant is a key player in month-end and year-end closing activities. This role will assist with the year-end financial audit and maintain, reconcile and distribution of corporate allocations. This position will assist financial leadership in high level analysis and provide timely completion of debt reporting, including borrowing base calculations and covenant compliance certificates. You must be able to manage competing priorities. You will also work on special projects assigned by management.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Prepare monthly journal entries, complete general ledger reconciliations to support month end closing processes for various entities. This includes close coordination with plant controllers, accountants, and finance partners.
- Perform account analysis, including the ability to identify, research and correct discrepancies.
- Ensure the completion Debt compliance reporting, and borrowing base calculations for management and bank reporting.
- Be a key player in creating and distributing the corporate allocations to the respective intercompany locations.
- Responsible for maintaining and reconciling self-funded medical and worker’s compensation accruals.
- Integral team member in facilitating an accurate and timely completion of month end and year end reporting.
- Support the annual external audit by ensuring supporting schedules and necessary documentation is prepared and reconciled on a timely basis.
- Analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts with research and explanation of material variances to financial
- Research, recommend and assist in the implementation of necessary process improvements to financial reporting and controls.
- Assist Director of Accounting with audit related issues and projects.
- Serve as liaison to location Controllers, assisting them with accounting related service issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance plus five years of audit/or related corporate experience
- CPA preferred
- Manufacturing background is a plus
Skills & Abilities:
- Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently
- Accurate and detail oriented in all work
- Good working knowledge of Accounting software
- Excellent Windows-based spreadsheet and word processing
- Strong US GAAP accounting knowledge related to normal business and manufacturing operations
