North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self-motivated and results driven Senior Accountant, to represent NCU in the semi-trailer industry.
North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We offer reefer, dry van and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin - we sell new and used semi-trailers. With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well. Our parts department has an extensive inventory in Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensures we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi-trailer parts. Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Electronic filing and paying Wisconsin sales and use tax
• Responsible for bi-monthly FET payments and Quarterly form 720 filings
• Process incoming wires and ACH payments daily
• Reconciliation of monthly floorplan statement
• Notes receivable aging management and reporting
• Management of petty cash
• Reclassification of trailer inventory
• Responsible for the complete trailer sales process from purchase to processing sales commissions
• Ensure accounting best practices are being maintained
• Reconcile cash & reporting schedules
• Make bank deposits
• AR & AP knowledge & process management
• Process inter-company transfers
• Post cash
• Bank account reconciliations
• GL maintenance
• Process ACH returns
• Work within department and cross-functionally with other departments
• Process credit holds
• Process Monthly Accounts Receivable statements
• Assist AP/AR at other store locations
• Accounting training as needed
• Assist Controller as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3-5 years of high-level GL/GAAP accounting experience required in larger organization (revenues north of $25-million)
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Excellent work ethic
• Strong computer skills
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) intermediate proficiency
• Proficient with technology
• Preference will be given to anyone who has vehicle or sales dealership experience
