Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing insightful financial guidance to clients. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles, as well as the ability to analyze complex financial data.
Duties
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Review financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to provide accurate advice.
- Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and strategize for tax savings.
- Collaborate with other accounting professionals to prepare financial reports.
- Analyze financial data related to asset management, private equity, and budgeting.
- Utilize accounting software such as Xero for efficient tax preparation and reporting.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law as it pertains to taxation.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in public accounting or a similar role focused on tax preparation.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to interpret complex financial reports.
- Familiarity with asset management principles and private equity structures is a plus.
- Excellent written communication skills for effective financial report writing.
- Proficient in using accounting software, particularly Xero; experience with other tax-related software is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
